abstract moody landscape - Iris Lehnhardt

A low ridge of hills runs across a landscape sheet in near black ink, soft at the top edge where the pigment has bled upward into a dusty mauve sky. The foreground below is a quieter grey mauve, dragged thin so the paper grain shows through. Nothing else is drawn: the whole scene rests on the one dark band and the open space above it.

Painted wet into wet so the bands of colour bleed together, then worked over with a dry brush. Iris Lehnhardt is a German visual artist who works in abstract painting, monoprint and collage, looking for a balance between minimal detail and layered colour. Available as a poster or fine art canvas print in multiple sizes.
